Prudential Reaches Comprehensive and Final Settlement on Malaysia Dividend Dispute

Prudential plc has reached a comprehensive and final settlement with Detik Ria Sdn Bhd regarding the Malaysia dividend dispute. Prudential will pay Detik Ria dividends equivalent to US$83 million through existing resources of Sri Han Suria Sdn Bhd, while waiving amounts equivalent to US$33 million owed by Detik Ria to its subsidiary. Both parties will withdraw all related legal proceedings, release each other from all liabilities, and refrain from filing new claims on historical matters. This settlement is expected to slightly increase Prudential Group's IFRS shareholders' equity.
